Mrs. Kaylyn Jackson
Teacher
Hello my name is Kaylyn Jackson, I am the grade 4,5,6 teacher. I recently finished my education after-degree at the University of Alberta. I am excited to be a part of the Northlands team! I grew up in Grande Cache and have lived and worked all around Alberta. Before becoming a teacher I worked in environmental science with a focus on sustainability, environmental education and communications. I absolutely love to be outside and want to incorporate land based learning and some aspects of outdoor education into our learning this school year.
I have three pet birds; two cockatiels named Toast and Mr. Beeperson and a budgie named Guacamole. Some of my hobbies are reading, baking and crocheting; right now I am working on crocheting a sweater. I also love to go hiking, fishing and foraging with my husband in my spare time. We are both looking forward to doing lots of ice fishing this winter!
